American Dental Association Approved

The American Dental Association Seal of Acceptance

You may have noticed a logo on your toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash containers that says, “ADA Accepted,” meaning it is American Dental Association approved. If you haven’t, you may want to reconsider the products you are using. This little seal is backed by significant research, extensive tests and safety regulations.

According to the ADA, “More than 300 oral health products, including toothpaste, dental floss, toothbrushes, mouth rinses, denture adherents and chewing gum carry the ADA Seal of Acceptance.”

As a consumer, it is important to purchase dental products with the ADA Seal of Acceptance, because that means these products have been lab-tested for safety and they do what they are advertised to do – such as whitening, tartar control, and more.

The American Dental Association has also teamed up with CVS to make dental care a priority. This collaborative initiative is a three-year plan designed to better equip Americans with tools to ensure good oral hygiene.

“A core component of the initiative is to give premium placement and promotion of dental care products…that have received the ADA Seal of Acceptance,” according to the ADA.

This means products, containing the ADA Seal of Acceptance, like toothbrushes, rinses, floss and teeth-friendly gum will be placed on display in CVS stores, putting oral health at the top of mind for shoppers.

Regardless of where you purchase your oral hygiene products, it is important to use ADA approved items for you and your family’s oral health.

The ADA also offers a convenient “Find-a-Dentist” program that allows you to easily find a dentist in your area. Just as the ADA ensures product quality, they also ensure dentist quality, making sure they match you with the right dentist who can provide the proper dental care for you and your family.

The team at Stonewood Dental would be happy to review your dental products to verify you are using what is best for your oral health.

And, if you’re looking for an ADA approved dentist, schedule an appointment at Stonewood, because we have a full staff of them!
